1773 The government of the principality in
Darmstadt granted permission for the
operation of a hammer-works.
The Auhammer was founded.

    1913 The foundry was built, affiliated
    to the smithery and set to work.

1958 The hammer-mill was
closed and production
concentrated in the foundry.

1964 Takeover by Eisenwerk Brühl,
first as a subsidiary - today as an
independent affiliated company.

1982 Installation of a moulding
machine for the production of turbine
housings and cylinder heads.

Die 25.-Mio. Kurbelwelle

1973 Start of the crankshaft manufacturing in
croning process and its consequent extend in the
following years.

1998 For the first time more than 50.000
tons of cast iron were produced
- the 25th million crankshaft was cast.

2001 Start of the production of turbine housings
of cast steel for use at elevated temperatures.
